This is the final book in a trilogy that seeks to decode some of the subtleties found in the deeper natures of the cosmos and humanity. The three books have followed an evolutionary sequence not unlike the actual progression observed in the growth of complexity in the world at large:

Matter >> Life >> Mind >> Spirit

(Physics > Biology > Psychology > Metaphysics)

Guided over eons of time by the unwritten codes of natural law, an unrelenting evolutionary progression has produced the elusive phenomenon of consciousness. Step-by-step it has extended our vision of self and world. In rough outline, an evolutionary sequence is followed within each book as well as a developmental progression from book to book.

Book 1 Big Bang/Evolution /Big Brain (Pre-personal)

Book 2 Instinct/Intelligence/Consciousness (Personal)

Book 3 Intuition/Metaphysics/Spirit (Transpersonal)

The two previous books in this series discussed some of the wonders and mysteries in the universe that hover over the not-yet-fully understood laws of nature. Inevitably, where a degree of uncertainty exists there are the usual polemics that accompany the absence of convincing truth.  Some questions and curiosities about the universe and humanity spill over the cusp of science to engage both physics and metaphysics:

  • Did the universe and earth’s life originate as a result of random evolutionary chance or intentional design?
  • Is there an intervening intelligence directing developments in the universe or,
  • Are we seeing the results of a process guided by systems of evolution deeply-rooted in natural law that once initiated need no intervention?

These uncertainties and the emotional reactions they present create profound implications for science, philosophy and religion, as well as for those thoughtful individuals who chase after purpose in the cosmos and meaning in their lives.

Yonderland embraces psychological and spiritual evolution. It looks at cosmic developments in an expanding, ever-changing universe and explores how certain of these evolutionary developments have engendered the endowments of human consciousness - and how an expanding consciousness is leading to spiritual awareness. In producing life, mind, and consciousness, the universe has created a means through which the beauty of its cosmic and spiritual content can be observed by humanity and reflected in individual humans. In so doing, the universe has implanted in us an evolutionary impulse to transcend the material inclinations of our being and to replace the domination of the ego with an awareness of soul.

Bestowed with an innate intellectual curiosity to explore what is unknown, we are empowered to live on the forward edge of evolution and even participate in the co-creation of our own future development. The universe has gifted us with energy, intelligence, and the nonmaterial structures of mind, consciousness and soul - gifts through which we can evolve our awareness beyond the material plane and in so doing to increasingly recognize our place in the grand scheme of an evolving cosmos.

For humans, it is intrinsic to our nature to change and evolve; it is the reason for our presence here. In the act of becoming more than we currently are, we move our personal being a little closer to the Being responsible for the cosmos and its life. In gaining more spiritual enlightenment, there is less separation between creature and Creator. In seeking oneness with the universe, we dare, in humility, to know the purpose of its Creator.

Einstein, Hawking, and other scientists have developed theorems that take their, and perhaps our, comprehension of the universe to within a tiny fraction of a second following that energetic flash that birthed the cosmos. Their goal is to project scientific knowledge to the very threshold that marks the beginning of space, time and matter. Thus, by studying the intricacies of design that define the structures of the universe, they aspire to discern something of the mind and intention of the Creative Agency. To step beyond that critical demarcation separating our universe of space, time, and matter from whatever realm that may have existed prior to the big bang is a goal unlikely to be fulfilled by science. The natural laws in the universe upon which investigative science relies may not be the same set of laws that were in place prior to the beginning of our universe.

However, consciousness functions in a realm inaccessible to the laws of physical science or sensory processing by the brain. When consciousness evolves to its loftier levels, human awareness can travel beyond the physical confinement of space/time and enter a sphere of spiritual awareness.

Our space/time world is four-dimensional but quantum physics and superstring theory have uncovered a nine-dimensional universe.  Science and our physical senses cannot take us outside the first four dimensions but under the right conditions, consciousness can gain access to the wider dimensions of the world. By seeking step-by-step enhancements in spiritual evolution, we respond to an inborn push that is the natural result of the same evolutionary growth imperative that has moved us across so many stages of the biosphere and into a world where an awakening consciousness can open an awareness of Spirit.

Einstein spent his life studying matter and energy and eventually, with the advance of his scientific knowledge, he began to see an equivalency between energy and spirit. As humans, we are beings of matter, energy and spirit and just as matter in the universe can convert to energy (E=MC2) likewise we can use our physical body/brain to transmute energy into spiritual awareness. Einstein did not consider himself to be religious in the conventional sense but rather professed a religious dedication to explore the mysteries of the universe.

My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality.

If the original cosmic energy of the big bang issued forth from Energy/Spirit and the ensuing evolutionary progression of the universe has moved from substance to consciousness, it appears that evolution is seeking a full-circle return to its original spiritual nature. As individuals, our essential role in this creative progression is to participate and evolve by becoming co-creators, that is, to move beyond the ego-self and to realize psychological and spiritual growth.

According to Jesus,

If the flesh came into being because of spirit, that is a marvel, but if spirit comes into being because of the body, that is the marvel of marvels

Einstein went on to say,

The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge

The acquisition of rational knowledge, along with imagination, meditation, and other self-enhancing techniques will lead to a widened scope of consciousness. Ascended masters of the past have achieved their high states of spiritual consciousness by looking within, opening the unconscious mind, and discovering secrets that would illuminate their journey. Once attained, this lofty spiritual state surpasses the norms of sensory experience. This is a state of consciousness intended not just for the chosen few.

As one such master said,

All that I have done, you will do and more.

Yonderland may help you find a way to a higher level of awareness.
